A seminar on photonic devices based on whispering gallery modes will be held at NSU
A graduate student of the laboratory of fiber lasers, Daria Bochek, will tell about the photonic devices based on the whispering gallery modes in the framework of the SAU seminar «Nonlinear Photonics and Quantum Technologies» on January 23, 2017.
The whispering gallery modes are resonant standing waves that can be excited in axisymmetric systems because of the effect of total internal reflection, which is being normal modes of the system.
The Daria Bochek report will discuss the fundamental principles of the operation and application of SNAP structures, detection devices using WGM, their detection limits and temporal resolution.
